Tri-County Services New Psychiatric Emergency Treatment Center
Tri-County Services has opened the new Psychiatric Emergency Treatment Center. The Psychiatric Emergency Treatment Center will provide a comprehensive array of services and will allow the Center to treat adults with serious mental illnesses who are experiencing a crisis near their home. The facility is a 12,000 square foot building located at 706 Old Montgomery Rd. Conroe, Texas 77301.
Individuals will be able to be treated on both a voluntary and involuntary basis and most will be able to avoid admission to Rusk State Hospital. This new Psychiatric Emergency Treatment Center will provide local, qualified treatment for adults with mental illness who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis. Local treatment means eliminating long drives, potential time in jail, additional strain on our crowded hospitals and the need for constable’s deputies and other law enforcement personnel to leave their jobs in the counties they serve in order to provide transportation and act as an escort for the patients.
The Psychiatric Emergency treatment Center is a collaboration of the funding efforts by Montgomery County, Montgomery County Hospital District, Montgomery County United Way, Montgomery County Clinical Services, City of Conroeand the Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
