Child Mental Health

Often, it’s hard to know why a child is consistently unhappy, angry, aggressive, or anxious or why a child persistently behaves in ways that are just not acceptable. If your child is having emotional or behavioral difficulties, Children’s Services at Tri-County offers a broad range of resources for children with adjustment and behavioral disorders .

Child Mental Health Services

Crisis, Access and Referral »

Children are provided an assessment of needs, determination of eligibility, and referrals to appropriate services. In a crisis, this process will be facilitated in the shortest amount of time possible.

Counseling »

This therapeutic intervention serves to develop strengths and coping mechanisms for issues that are related to the child’s area of severe emotional disturbance. Parent and family interventions are commonly provided.

Case Coordination »

Staff is available for crisis intervention, advocacy and assisting children and families in gaining access to medical, social support, educational and other services.

Rehabilitation Service »

The rehabilitation services program provides children with training related to skills necessary to cope with their mental disorder and the challenges it brings.

Admission Eligibility »

Tri-County Services provides services for children in compliance with Department of State Health Service criteria. Children must be severely emotionally disturbed as evidenced by major functioning impairments in school, home, and related settings and require treatment to return to acceptable functioning levels.
