From the Heart will kick off September 15, 2009. From the Heart is a fundraising campaign done every year during the holiday season to help provide Tri-County MHMR Services (Tri-County) clients and their families with a better quality of life during the holidays. Tri-County clients, siblings, children, spouses and family members living in their homes are all included in the program. Clients are asked to fill out a “want and wish list” with needs and special requests. These lists are used to facilitate shopping for gifts and to help community members who would like to “adopt” a client and/or a family for the holidays. Each year, From the Heart offers a season of giving, to those that would otherwise not have it.   In previous years, clothing, food, toys and cash donations provided by donors were given to needy children and adults throughout our area. With the donations received, along with being able to adopt many families in the community, we were able to help over 700 people last year.  Items requested varied from a winter coat, can opener or even pajamas for their child.  

This year, Tri-County asks that you consider their clients again when preparing for the holidays. We ask that all gifts picked up or purchased, wrapped, and delivered no later than December 15, 2009.  If you need more information or would like to make a donation and/or adopt an individual consumer or family, please contact Kimberly Willing, Coordinator of Resource Development, at (936) 521-6123.   Donations are tax deductible where applicable by law.

Tri-County Mental Health and Mental Retardation Services provide services to clients in Montgomery, Liberty and Walker counties.  Tri-County works to ensure the provision of quality services for individuals with mental illness and mental retardation and enhance the quality of life in our community.
